DAWSONVILLE - For the second time in less than three weeks, two of the state's premier wrestling programs will go head-to-head.
Dawson County, which finished second in the state last year in Class AA, will play host to the annual Amicolola Invitational.
The action gets under way beginning Friday with the finals in both team and individual brackets being held Saturday. It is one of the strongest fields ever for the tournament.
Last year's Class A champion - Jefferson - will be in the field of nearly two dozen teams. The Dragons, which have won three staright state titles, beat the field last month in the John C. Smith Mountaineer tournament in Lumpkin County.
Dawson County finished third at the Mounatineer and the two teams are the favorites to win the Amicolola title.
North Forysth, which finished fourth at the Mountaineer, will also compete at the Amicalola as will Lumpkin County, which took fifth at the Mountaineer.
West Hall and Gainesville are the only Hall County teams participating in the Amicalola tournament.
Other northeast Georgia teams competing are Jackson County and South Forsyth. A complete list of the field was not immediately available.
