GAINESVILLE - After a quiet Christmas holiday period, prep basketball action gets back into nearly full swing Friday night around Hall County and northeast Georgia.
Flowery Branch playing at North Hall highlights the action. The tip-off for the girls game has been moved to 3 p.m. with the boys game to follow at the North Hall gym.
The No. 1-ranked East Hall boys get back in action traveling to Pickens County. The girls tip-off at 7 p.m. with the boys to follow.
West Hall travels to White County and Jackson County plays host to Johnson.
In other action around the area: Buford will play host to Lumpkin County; Rabun County travels to Wesleyan, and Franklin County hits the road at Seneca, S.C.
The Lady Falcons are coming off their first-ever Lanierland title while the Falcons boys, which went 0-24 last year, has had the biggest improvement of any single team posting a 5-5 record early on.
All of Region 7-AAA is expected to begin their subregion schedules next week.
Lakeview Academy, which plays again Saturday night playing host to Class A No. 3-ranked Whitefield Academy, and Region 8-A have already played some subregion games but will get back into next week.
Riverside Military Academy does not return to action until next Tuesday playing host to The Weber School.
