GAINESVILLE - After battling each other through a series of tournaments and non-subregion games, Gainesville and Hall County teams start the most critical time of the year Tuesday night: Region 7-AAA subregion play.
Several big showdowns highlight the girls action.
West Hall travels to Gainesville and Flowery Branch plays host to East Hall in two Region 7-AAA South matchups.
The young Lady Vikings are still trying to find their way and need a win over the No. 6 Lady Falcons with No. 2 Gainesville coming up Friday.
The Lady Spartans are much-improved this season but have a tall task against the No. 2 Lady Elephants and Tasha Humphrey. A win is critical for West Hall with a road game at No. 4 Johnson on Friday to avoid an 0-2 start in the subregion.
North Hall travels to rival White County in a huge Region 7-AAA North battle. The Lady Trojans are coming off an upset win over Flowery Branch.
Chestatee will travel to Gilmer County in another Region 7-AAA North game. Fannin County and Pickens County also play in Region 7-AAA North.
Fourth-ranked Johnson is the only Region 7-AAA team not in action.
