GAINESVILLE - Despite a loss to Class AAAAA No. 1-ranked South Gwinnett last week, the East Hall boys basketball team remained No. 1 in the last Class AAA gabasketball.net poll released Monday night.
The Vikings (10-2) won the Lanierland Tournament last month before resuming play last Friday. They beat Pickens before losing to the Comets.
East Hall and most of northeast Georgia begin their region and subregion schedules Tuesday night. The Vikings travel to Flowery Branch.
In the Class AAA poll, Gainesville is tied for fourth with Banneker, who is the only other team to beat East Hall this season. Hart County is ranked sixth.
The Johnson boys are ranked seventh in the Class AAA poll.
