CARTERSVILLE - Defense was the name of the game for the Lakeview Academy girls basketball team Tuesday night.
The Lady Lions held Excel Academy to two points in the first quarter and three in the third quarter in taking an easy 62-22 win on the road.
Lakeview (11-4) led 20-2 after the first quarter and increased the lead to 36-9 at halftime.
The Lady Lions used a 19-3 third quarter to push their lead to 55-12.
Chelsey Chastain led Lakeview with 16 points. Christi Thomas added 14 and Hannah Bennet 9 for the Lady Lions. Diana Briggs dished out 6 assists.
Lakeview next will travel to Prince Avenue in Athens Friday night.
