Belflower, Warriors avoid Gilmer upset bid

CLEVELAND - Trying to avoid a letdown as perhaps they look to Friday&#39;s battle for the top spot in Region 7-AAA North, the Class AAA No. 3-ranked White County boys basketball team nearly fell victim to the upset against Gilmer County Tuesday.<br> <br> The Bobcats led most of the first half and trailed just 40-38 heading into the fourth quarter but White County useda 10-2 run to start the final period and eventually went on to take a 60-47 win.<br> <br> The come-from-behind win kept the Warriors (15-3, 5-0) undefeated headed into Friday&#39;s showdown in Murrayville against North Hall. The two teams&#39; have split two meetings already this season, only one counting in the subregion standings.<br> <br> Jeff Bellflower led White County with 16 points as 13 different players scored<br> <br> Derrick West and Chad Forhand led Gilmer 11 points each.
