Lady Falcons, Vikings look to keep pace in subregion

RABBITTOWN - Two teams that were heading in opposite directions have reversed course after last week.

Th East Hall girls basketball team, which opened its subregion play with an upset over Flowery Branch on the road two weeks ago, is now trying to hold on to second place in Region 7-AAA South when it plays host to the same Lady Falcons Friday night.

The Class AAA No. 1-ranked East Hall boys will take on the Falcons, who got their first-ever subregion win on Tuesday against West Hall.

The Lady Falcons (12-6, 1-3) are still ranked 13th in Class AAA and had been reeling losing its first three subregion games and trailed West Hall by 23 on Tuesday before staging a miraculous comeback.

The Lady Vikings (11-6, 2-2) have lost two of three in the subregion and are tied with Johnson behind No. 1-ranked Gainesville. They begin a four-game road swing Saturday against three of the top four teams in the region in White County, Gainesville, Johnson and North Hall.

For Flowery Branch, its the first of a four-game road swing with Lumpkin County, Peachtree Ridge and Gainesville to follow.

East Hall is led by Wittney Pruitt and Heather Poole. Flowery Branch is led by Beth Adcock, Kristina Tyler and Courtney Newton.
