Lakeview boys survive wild fourth quarter to beat Towns

GAINESVILLE - The Lakeview Academy boys basketball team survived a wild fourth quarter to beat Towns County 71-57 Friday night in Region 8-A North action.<br>

After falling behind 15-14 in the first quarter, Lakeview (14-6, 6-2) outscored the Indians (12-8, 6-2) 37-27 to take a 51-42 lead into the final period.<br>
<br>
Lakeview began the fourth quarter on a 12-6 run and then the Towns County bench was called for two technical fouls and one fan was thrown out of game for verbally abusing officials.<br>
<br>
It gave Lakeview a 7-point trip and they cruised from there.<br>
<br>
"We worn them down with our pressure defense and I thought we did an outstanding job on that," Lakeview coach Richie Hughes said.<br>
<br>
Lakeview posted five players in double figures, led by J.B. Little, who has broken out of his midseason slump, with 14 points, 12 in the second half. Will Crumley and Trey Wood each had 13.<br>
<br>
"J.B. has really been playing well lately and that has been a big lift for us," Hughes said.<br>
<br>
Dustin Wellborn and Billy Saye both finished with 10 points.
