GAINESVILLE - The Jackson County girls softball team rolled its way to the first ever Lanier Point Invitational title.
The Lady Panthers went 6-0 in the round-robin tournament. They outscored their opponents 57-4 in the two-day tournament at the Lanier Point Softball Complex.
Jackson beat Dawson County in the championship game 6-2.
North Hall was 4-0 going into the elimination round but was beaten by Dawson, the fifth seed, 7-5, in the seminfinals.
Dawson also beat No. 3 seed West Hall, 13-3, before beating North Hall. West Hall finished 4-1 after the loss to Dawson. The Tigers finished 5-2.
Buford, which finished 3-2 with both losses coming to Jackson, put up the best fight in a 2-0 loss to the Panthers in the semifinals. The Lady Wolves advanced to the semifinals after beating Flowery Branch 3-0.
Flowery Branch advanced to the elimination round and finished 2-3. East Hall finished 2-2 in the tournament.
Gainesville and Habersham each finished 0-4. Forsyth Central finished 1-3.
White County, Lumpkin County and Union County were all 2-2.
