OAKWOOD - The Johnson defense put in another dominating performance Friday night in a 26-0 win over Pickens at Billy Ellis Stadium.
The Knights (2-0, 2-0 in Region 7-AAA) gave up just six points in their opening win over West Hall two weeks ago.
Johnson got going early when jeremy casper hit Zach Abernathy on a 9-yard touchdown pass for a 7-0 lead.
The Pickens defense stiffened and allowed just a 21-yard Jesus Noriega field goal the rest of the half to make it 10-0.
In the third quarter Casper hit Cardy McKenzey on a TD pass and B.J. Jackson, who finished with 110 yards on 15 carries, scored from 1-yard out for a 23-0 lead.
Noriega hit a 35-yard field to finish the scoring.
McKenzey finished with 91 yards on 21 carries to go with his TD catch.
The Knights will play host to Chestatee next week while Pickens (0-2, 0-2) will travel to Fannin County.
