OAKWOOD - Known for its defense so far in the 2003 season, the Johnson Knights football team flexed a little offensive muscle Frdiay night against Chestatee.
The Knights exploded for 20 fourth quarter points to take control in a 39-0 region 7-AAA win over the War Eagles at The Dungeon.
Cardy McKensey scored three touchdowns on 195 yards rushing to lead Johnson (3-0 3-0). B.J. Jackson added 145 yards on the ground.
Chestatee (0-2, 0-2) kept the game close after Johnson scored on its first two drives to jump out to a quick 13-0 lead. The War Eagles gave up just two Jesus Noriega fields from the middle of the first quarter until the fourth quarter.
The Johnson defense, however, was just too much for the young Chestatee offense. The Knights limited Chestatee to less than 100 total yards for the game, inlcuing shutting down a pretty good air attack for just 18 yards passing.
the Knights have pitched two shut outs in the first three games and allowed a total of just 6 points.
Johnson will travel to Fannin County next week while Chestatee plays at Gainesville.
