OAKWOOD - West Hall fans wondering how the Spartans would respond Friday night after last week's stunning loss to Flowery Branch can rest easier now.
The Spartans cruised to a 42-6 win over White County in Region 7-AAA action at West Hall Stadium to stay in the playoff hunt.
West Hall (3-2, 3-2) made sure early there would be no upsets this time, forcing a White County fumble less than a minute into the game and then punching it in for a 7-0 lead.
The Spartans ran out to a 28-0 lead before the Warriors (0-4, 0-4) scored on a 4-yard pass from Ryan Locklear to Nick Winters just before the half. West Hall thwarted several White County drives in the second half - two inside the West Hall 10 - to preserve the win.
Devon Snapp scored two touchdowns and Mike Burgamy ran for one and threw for another.
West Hall will travel to play East Hall and its old coach Tim Marchman next week. White County will play host to Pickens.
