GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville boys basketball team ran its winning streak to seven with a 79-64 win over rival North Hall Tuesday night.
Gainesville (8-1) trailed just once - 2-0 - and then responded with a 23-7 run en rout to the victory.
With the loss North Hall (3-3) has now lost three straight since winning the White County Tournament last month.
Gainesville's Brent Benson continued his strong play with a game-high 32 points, including hitting 6-of-10 3-pointers.
Ronny Hulsey led North Hall with 25 points.
North Hall, which played Gainesville even the rest of the way after the opening run by the Elephants, climbed to within 12 points in the fourth quarter but could get no closer.
Corey Wilmont and James Chester each scored 12 points for Gainesville.
For North Hall, Josh Stephens added 11 points and Tyler Smiley 10.
