Forsyth considering ban on new private sewer plants

By by Ken Stanford
CUMMING - The Forsyth County Commission is considering banning new privately owned sewer plants in the county, but the county commissioner representing much of north Forsyth says it will hurt her constituents.

According to the Norton Agency's Native Intelligence Market Watch such a possibility was discussed at a recent meeting on revisions to the county's Unified Development Code.

While private sewage plants would be banned, the revisions allow developers to construct a sewer facility if it is given to the county once construction is complete.

Commissioner Marcie Kreager, who represents the less-developed northern part of the county, said the revisions seem to favor south Forsyth which already has many sewage treatment alternatives in place.
