GAINESVILLE - Chestatee's Cory Black led all scorers with 24 points as the Chestatee War Eagles boys basketball team opened its second season with a 69-55 win over West Hall Tuesday night at home.<br>

In the girls game, West Hall edged Chestatee, 57-51.<br>

Jesus Cantu also had a big night for the Chestatee boys, scoring 18 points, 14 in the second half. Dusty Jarrard also reached double digits for the War Eagles with 10 points.<br>

The War Eagles did suffer some bad news, however. Cody Finks scored two points early in the first quarter, but he suffered an injury running down the court. He did not return to the game.<br>

West Hall was led Jerry Kendall with 14 points. Jacob Vitale and Josh Bagley both had 12 points.<br>
<br>
The girl's game was a hampered by fouls and turnovers, and every player on both benches saw action.<br>
<br>
Lacey Bartlett led West Hall with 23 points.<br>
<br>
The Lady Spartans used an 18-10 run in the second quarter to pull away and then held on in the second half.
