LILBURN - Gainesville High standout and recent Georgia signee Tasha Humphrey, already the most prolific scorer in Hall County in girls basketball history, reached another milestone Saturday night.
Humphrey scored 21 points and now has 2,009 points in the career. She is the first person to crack the 2,000-point plateau.
Humphrey's effort was wasted, however, as the Lady Elephants fell to Collins Hill 69-39 in the Southern Gas Holiday Classic at Parkview.
Gainesville (1-1) next will play Redan on Monday in the consolation game.
Shawana Harrison added 12 for Gainesville and joined Humphrey as the only players in double figures.
