Commerce, Jefferson both advance in playoffs

JACKSON COUNTY - Both Commerce and Jefferson advanced to the second round of the Class A state football playoffs Friday night.

Commerce beat Whitefield Academy, 42-21, while Jefferson beat Heard County, 21-13.

Commerce will move on to play Bremen, who beat Warren County. Jefferson next will travel to Trion, which Johnson County.
