DAHLONEGA - The high-powered Lumpkin County offense will get its first true test Friday night when the Indians travel to Norcross to play Wesleyan.
Behind the tandem of quarterback David Richardson and running back Dorian Dorsey, Lumpkin (3-0, 1-0 in Region 8-AA) has averaged 40 points a game, including putting up 61 in a win last week over Union County.
Wesleyan (3-1, 2-0) has won three straight, including a shocking 24-21 win over GAC, last year's Class AA runner-up, last week.
A win for Lumpkin would set up a showdown of unbeatens next week with Buford, who travels to Dahlonega.
In other region 8-AA action, Banks County travels to Apalachee, who is 2-0 in region play. Dawson County plays host to Rabun County with both teams looking for their first region wins. The big showdown has GAC and Buford squaring off in Buford.
Union County is off this week.
