GAINESVILLE - The North hall girls softball team finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in Class AAA following its perfect run through Region 7-AAA play.
The Lady Trojans (22-4, 10-0) whipped last year's region champ Chestatee 9-0 and then came from behind three times to beat Pickens County to capture the title.
Pickens finished No. 4, Chestatee fell to No. 7 after its loss to Pickens and Flowery branch finished in a three-way tie for ninth.
The Region 7-AAA Tournament gets under way Tuesday at Lanier Point Softball Complex.
In Class AAAA, North forsyth moved up to No. 4 while South Forsyth was sixth and Jackson County seventh in the final poll.
In Class AA, Buford and Dawson County both cracked into the poll finishing in a three-way tie with Walker. Greater Atlanta Christian finished No. 3 in the poll.
