Trojans treat Gilmer rudely in shutout win

By By Jeff Hart
MURRAYVILLE - North Hall was not a kind host to Gilmer County Friday night.

The Trojans capitalized on five Gilmer turnovers and cruised to a 42-0 region 7-AAA win at The Brickyard.

T.J. Pitts scored two first half touchdowns within a two minute span to put the game out of reach.

North Hall (6-1, 6-1) has outscored its last two opponents 89-0 and holds a half-game lead over Johnson for the second playoff spot. The Trojans have allowed just 10 points total over in their last 10 quarters.

The top two teams will get to host a playoff game.

Quarterback Corey Hutchins ran for two scores and threw for another in perhaps his best game of the season.

North Hall will play host to reeling West Hall next week. The Spartans have lost three of their last five games after a 2-1 start.
