Georgia man sentenced to five years for threatening vice president

MACON - A Georgia man was sentenced Thursday to five years in prison for phoning a bomb threat against Vice President Dick Cheney at a speech in July in Macon. <br> <br> Roland F. Brown, of Dry Branch, pleaded guilty in November to calling in the threat. <br> <br> Cheney spoke at the Macon City Auditorium on July 19 during a fund-raiser for then-Representative Saxby Chambliss, who was running for U.S. Senate. <br> <br> U.S. District Court Judge Hugh Lawson gave the 29-year-old Brown the maximum prison sentence and also ordered him to serve three years on probation after his release. <br> <br> U.S. Attorney Maxwell Wood said, ``Any and all threats of terrorism are taken seriously and diligently investigated. Those thinking of making such threats, even as a joke, should think again.&#39;&#39;
