Home Depot buys naming rights to new L.A. sports complex

LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles newspaper is reporting Tuesday that a new sports complex will bear the Home Depot name after the Atlanta-based company agreed to a 10-year deal worth $70 million. <br>

The Home Depot National Training Center will be home to Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy as well as the training grounds for the U.S. men's and women's soccer teams and a venue for U.S. Tennis Association events. <br>

According to the Los Angeles Times, the facility will be built on 85 acres in Carson, about 20 miles south of L.A. It will include a track and field stadium that could hold up to 30,000 seats. <br>

The Anschutz Entertainment Group was expected to announce the deal with Home Depot and the addition of a track and field stadium Tuesday. The $130 million complex is expected to be built by June 2003.
