ATLANTA - A cold front is expected to improve the air quality in metro Atlanta Wednesday.
Temperatures are expected to drop to the upper 80s with a chance of showers. The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says the chance of rain will continue for the rest of the week.
The cooler temperatures and rain are expected to bring healthier air.
She says record-high 90-degree temperatures in the first eight days of this month helped to produce six unhealthy Code Orange smog days.
Forecasters said July 6th was the hottest day of the year.
