Front should improve air quality

ATLANTA - A cold front is expected to improve the air quality in metro Atlanta Wednesday. <br> <br> Temperatures are expected to drop to the upper 80s with a chance of showers. The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says the chance of rain will continue for the rest of the week. <br> <br> The cooler temperatures and rain are expected to bring healthier air. <br> <br> Susan Zimmer-Dauphinee is program manager for the air protection branch of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. <br> <br> She says record-high 90-degree temperatures in the first eight days of this month helped to produce six unhealthy Code Orange smog days. <br> <br> Forecasters said July 6th was the hottest day of the year.
