Flowers Foods names new executives

THOMASVILLE - Flowers Foods Incorporated has named Gene D. Lord president and chief operating officer of Flowers Bakeries Unit. <br> <br> As part of its restructuring effort, the company also named Allen L. Shiver president and chief operating officer of Flowers Snack unit. <br> <br> A company spokeswoman said William A. Strenglis will keep his position as president and chief operating officer of the Mrs. Smith&#39;s Bakeries unit. <br> <br> The company also named Robert A. Hocutt, David C. Scott, and Joe G. Tashie regional vice presidents for Flowers Bakeries. <br> <br> The company said last month that it would restructure its Flowers Bakeries and Mrs. Smith&#39;s Bakeries operations into Flowers Bakeries, Mrs. Smith&#39;s Bakeries, and Flowers Snack. The restructuring is effective July 14.
