ATLANTA - The heralded $9,000 scooters being used in Atlanta have hit a bump. <br>

A member of the Central Atlanta Progress Ambassador Force toppled from one of the battery-powered scooters downtown about 8:40 p.m. Thursday. <br>

The officer - whose name was not released - injured his knee going up a driveway onto the sidewalk. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. <br>

Atlanta is one of the first cities to get the Segway scooters for city employees. <br>

Six of the 65-pound scooters were loaned to Atlanta police for 60 days last month by the company that's promoting them. <br>

The city's Ambassador Force, Central Atlanta Progress and Georgia Power purchased ten more of the scooters for $9,000 each.
