ATLANTA - EarthLink, Incorporated president and board member Mike McQuary resigned Monday, citing personal reasons. <br>

Spokeswoman Carla Shaw said McQuary will continue to work with projects for the Internet service provider on a limited basis. Chief Executive Officer Garry Betty will assume McQuary's day-to-day duties. <br>

McQuary in 1996 became president and chief operating officer of MindSpring and has remained president since MindSpring's merger with EarthLink in February 2000. <br>
<br>
Atlanta-based EarthLink has about 4.9 million Internet subscribers.
