Mayor reprimanded by council for confronting city official

MARIETTA - The Marietta City Council voted 5-2 Wednesday to reprimand Mayor Bill Dunaway for confronting a city official and using inappropriate language. <br> <br> Dunaway confronted the city&#39;s economic development director, Brian Freese, earlier this year, but officials would not give details about the incident. <br> <br> The reprimand was pushed by 22-year veteran Councilman Philip Goldstein. Anthony Coleman and Jim King voted against the resolution. <br> <br> ``I&#39;m familiar with similar situations where a lot more was done and a reprimand was not issued,&#39;&#39; King said. ``I have not written up people who have acted in a more severe fashion.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Dunaway, who has apologized to Freese, said he was frustrated with the council, but promised not to hold a grudge or seek revenge. Dunaway was elected mayor in 2001.
