AUGUSTA - A man pushed his luck a little too far when he tried to change his fortune by gluing two losing lottery tickets together to form a winning ticket, police said.
Paul Nolan D'Antignae, 48, was charged Tuesday with falsely making, altering and passing a Georgia Lottery ticket, a felony.

Police said D'Antignae tried to claim $20 at a convenience store for a ``winning'' holiday lottery ticket in a game called New Year's Cash.

Manager Chong Yi told police the ticket wouldn't scan in his machine.
A police report said a sheriff's deputy found six other altered tickets in D'Antignae pocket.

``It looked terrible,'' Yi said. ``He wanted to show us another one.''
New Year's Cash is a holiday promotion scratch-off game with winnings up to $75,000.
The crime carries a maximum fine of $50,000 and five years in jail.
