Man arrested for counterfeit lottery ticket

AUGUSTA - A man pushed his luck a little too far when he tried to change his fortune by gluing two losing lottery tickets together to form a winning ticket, police said. <br> <br> Paul Nolan D&#39;Antignae, 48, was charged Tuesday with falsely making, altering and passing a Georgia Lottery ticket, a felony. <br> <br> Police said D&#39;Antignae tried to claim $20 at a convenience store for a ``winning&#39;&#39; holiday lottery ticket in a game called New Year&#39;s Cash. <br> <br> Manager Chong Yi told police the ticket wouldn&#39;t scan in his machine. <br> <br> A police report said a sheriff&#39;s deputy found six other altered tickets in D&#39;Antignae pocket. <br> <br> ``It looked terrible,&#39;&#39; Yi said. ``He wanted to show us another one.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> New Year&#39;s Cash is a holiday promotion scratch-off game with winnings up to $75,000. <br> <br> The crime carries a maximum fine of $50,000 and five years in jail.
