ACWORTH - A prominent Cobb County developer has been charged with the murder of a 28-year-old Kennesaw man whose body was found wrapped in plastic in a vacant garage.
Fred Odell Carroll, 38, of Acworth turned himself in to police Friday. He is accused in the shooting of William Byron Roberts, whose body was discovered by a neighbor Thursday evening.
Police said the two men knew each other as business associates and had performed construction work together in the past.
Police have not determined a motive for the murder.
Carroll owns Marietta-based Plantation Communities.
``He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would do something like this,'' said County Commissioner Bill Askea, who worked with Carroll on several Cobb County developments.
