Cobb County developer charged with murder

ACWORTH - A prominent Cobb County developer has been charged with the murder of a 28-year-old Kennesaw man whose body was found wrapped in plastic in a vacant garage. <br> <br> Fred Odell Carroll, 38, of Acworth turned himself in to police Friday. He is accused in the shooting of William Byron Roberts, whose body was discovered by a neighbor Thursday evening. <br> <br> Police said the two men knew each other as business associates and had performed construction work together in the past. <br> <br> Police have not determined a motive for the murder. <br> <br> Carroll owns Marietta-based Plantation Communities. <br> <br> ``He doesn&#39;t seem like the kind of guy who would do something like this,&#39;&#39; said County Commissioner Bill Askea, who worked with Carroll on several Cobb County developments.
