Woman charged with murder after fatal crash

FAYETTEVILLE - A 37-year-old woman faces an arraignment hearing on charges including murder and homicide by vehicle in connection with a 22-mile police chase that ended in a bystander&#39;s death. <br> <br> Fayette County Police spokeswoman Sergeant Belinda McCastle said today that Loraine McCrary of Jonesboro is scheduled to appear in Superior Court November 15th in connection with the death of 41-year-old Norman Charles Vicha Junior of Peachtree City. <br> <br> Authorities say he was killed instantly when McCrary slammed head-on into the driver&#39;s side of his Crysler minivan July 27th as she fled police. <br> <br> McCray - who was driving a Ford Explorer - was hospitalized after the accident. Her three children were injured. <br> <br> Police say the chase began in Meriwether County after an officer attempted to stop McCrary following a traffic accident. Authorities say she sped away, leading police through Coweta County and into Fayette County. <br> <br> McCastle says McCrary also faces charges including fleeing and attempting to elude an officer, speeding, two counts of reckless conduct and ten counts of forgery in the second degree. <br> <br> A judge denied bond for McCrary, who is being held in a jail in another county where she continues to undergo medical treatment.
