GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Duals wrestling ended Saturday the same way it has now for 12 of the last 13 years.
The North Hall Trojans held off a scrappy Riverside Military Academy team to win a close match and take the title.
North Hall, which finished 5-0 in the two-day tournament, needed a victory by Robert Tally in the 275-pound class to seal the win. Tally responded by pinning his opponent.
Tally's clinching win was set up by Stephen Lester's pin of Riverside's Eric Pooser at 215 for a 36-33 lead.
It was the second straight year that the two teams battled down to the final match in the deciding dual match.
Riverside, which finished second in the tournament with a 4-1 record, took the lead after winning five of seven contested matches. North Hall had opened the dual match with four straight wins.
West Hall (3-2) finished third with East Hall, Gainesville and Johnson all finishing with 1-4 records.
