GAINESVILLE - Three thousand members of the Free Chapel Worship Center marched to the future Sunday on McEver Road.
An ancient ram's horn blended with the noise of bull dozers Sunday on McEver Road.
Pastor Jentezen Franklin joined in the ground breaking with a bull dozier and announced nearly 11 million dollars in pledges to built the new church.
At the conclusion of services at their current location at 1290 McEver Road, church members marched to the new site at 2953 McEver Road, about a mile away.
Franklin said the new church should be ready for worship late next year.
"It's historical for us," said Franklin.
"We're breaking ground on a new sanctuary and we believe we are going to raise up a church that can be a pulpit to the world, and touch many lives."
