Down to the final three weeks in the season, the playoff picture in several regions is starting to take shape. For others, it’s just getting interesting.

It was old-school softball, which played just perfectly into Buford’s hands Wednesday against Thomas County Central in the second round of the Class AAAA state playoffs.

The Flames of Lee University held off a charge from West Georgia to claim the 2nd Annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial Golf Tournament team title by a single stroke on Tuesday afternoon on the par 72, 5,887 yard Achasta Golf Course. Lee's Caroline Moore earned individual medalist honors with a one-under 72-71-143.

Marshall Morgan, who missed from 26 yards about 4 minutes earlier, kicked a 34-yard field goal with 1:44 remaining and Georgia edged Missouri 9-6 on Saturday night in a game with no touchdowns.
