In Class AAAA, Jefferson swept West Hall in the second round to advance to the quarterfinals of the state volleyball tournament.
However, Region 8-AAAAAA continued its rough second round as Habersham Central fell to Alpharetta in a 3-0 sweep and Winder-Barrow lost to Johns Creek 3-0. Gainesville fell to Cambridge on Wednesday.\
Buford in Class AAAAA, North Hall in Class AAA, and Rabun County in Class AA all advanced on Wednesday.
The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals for Class A to AAA will be held at Holy Innocents while Class AAAA to AAAAAAA will be held at Marietta High School on Oct. 29.
