No one was injured in a rollover wreck on Ga. 17 in Habersham County Saturday afternoon.
The Georgia State Patrol reported that troopers responded to the scene near Preacher Campbell Road in the Amy’s Creek community between Clarkesville and Helen at 2:51 p.m.
An initial investigation determined a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling north on the roadway when it missed its turn into a resident’s driveway. The driver reportedly accidentally turned into the wrong residence, and attempted to backup after realizing the mistake.
While attempting to back up, the driver traveled onto the right edge of the driveway. The Chevrolet’s tires lost traction, causing it to travel down an embankment. The Chevrolet then slid down the embankment and overturned, coming to an uncontrolled rest on its roof.
The accident caused a traffic delay for roughly an hour as crews worked to clear the scene.
