A new way to connect food, family and fun is taking shape for the City of Gainesville's First Friday event for August.
Explore Gainesville and the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville are collecting nonperishable food items to benefit The Georgia Mountain Food Bank. Together, these entities invite the community to come together and support local families in need.
Residents are being invited to bring a canned good to the square during the First Friday event for Gainesville on August 1, 2025 and be a part of something meaningful while enjoying live music, summer vibes and time together in downtown Gainesville.
A post with the City of Gainesville's social media page notes that if you cannot make it to the concert during next week's First Friday--beginning at 7:00 p.m.-- Explore Gainesvillie and Gainesville Kiwanis are also accepting donations at the Gainesville Welcome Center during regular business hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. between Monday, July 28 and Friday, August 1.
