Baseball: Surprising Vikings look to match entire 2024 win total on Monday

By Jeff Hart Sports Reporter

Cherokee Bluff and Dawson County, a pair of teams that made deep playoff runs in 2024, will highlight a light schedule on the diamond around northeast Georgia on Monday.

The Bears lost in the Class 4A state championship series last year while the Tigers advanced to the quarterfinals in Class 3A. Bluff (1-2) opened the season as the No. 1-ranked team in Class 3A in the Coaches Box poll but is off to a slow start, losing 3-1 to Dawson County (1-1) last week.

Meanwhile, East Hall (2-1) can match 2024's entire win total with a win over Chestatee (0-3) at East Hall Park on Monday. The War Eagles are considered a playoff contender in 2025, but they are also off to a slow start this season.

In all, just five games are on tap Monday.
