A North Carolina man is facing charges in a north Georgia county for alleged methamphetamine possession.
The Towns County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) says in social media posts that their deputies conducted a traffic stop during regular patrol on Friday, January 31 along State Highway 66. During the traffic stop probable cause was developed to conduct a search, and the TCSO's Narcotics Unit was called to assist.
Sheriff's Office officials say that during the search, a plastic bag with a crystal like substance consistent with Methamphetamine was confiscated along with drug paraphernalia. It was at this time law enforcement arrested 51-year old Dennis Earl Harper of Wayne, North Carolina without further incident.
Harper faces one felony count of Possession of Methamphetamine and one misdemeanor charge of possession and use of drug related objects. He was being held at the TCSO's detention center as of this publication.
