Madison County Sheriff's Investigator Doug Martin, who passed away on Sunday, will be honored by the department.
Sheriff Michael Moore's Office's posted on the department's Facebook page on Monday that they will have a memorial procession before the funeral service. on Friday.
Sheriff Moore is asking for citizens to line the streets of Danielsville or Hull (29 area) in honor of Martin. The procession will leave the Sheriff's Office at noon taking 98 to the roundabout then 29 south to Athens. Moore said this is to dedicate the many years of service by Investigator Martin to the citizens of Madison County.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home in Athens. The Memorial Service will be on Friday at 2 p.m., also at Bernstein Funeral Home.
The Moore family is asking that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to a fallen officer's benefit fund in Doug Martin's name. You also can donate to the Buddy Christian Foundation at P.O. Box 903 Colbert, Ga. 30628.
