As part of a full depth reclamation project, Barrow County's Freeman Brock Road will be limited to only local traffic beginning today, Monday, July 22, weather permitting.
Barrow County Public Works Director Chris Yancey notes in social media posts that a full depth reclamation is more thank a standard, "patch and paving" project. It involves grinding up the old road, creating a new bed and paving a new road.
Freeman Brock Road will be closed to through-traffic for approximately five days if the weather conditions cooperate with project plans. Drivers who use Freeman Brock Road as a connector between County Line Auburn Road and Dee Kennedy Road can use the intersection of County Line Auburn and Dee Kennedy.
Yancey says in the media posts, “This project is a priority, not only for motorists who traverse the area, but for parents and children who will now have a safer route to nearby Bramlett Elementary School for the new school year,” Yancey said.
As always, drivers should exercise caution in and around construction zones."
Freeman Brock Road is a main roadway for the access to Barrow County's Bramlett Elementary School.
