The Georgia Native Plant Society North Georgia Mountains chapter will host on Saturday, Jun. 1 its annual Native Plant Sale at the Union County Farmers Market.
GNPS said in a press release the plant sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Pavilion C.
GNPS will offer a selection of native plants for garden and landscape projects including milkweed, ferns, coneflower and more.
Plants that thrive in sunny locations, shady spots, dry soil and damp areas will be available.
Volunteers will be on hand to offer advice on planting, care, and maintenance.
Native plants can help attract more hummingbirds, butterflies and birds, according to GNPS.
The Georgia Native Plant Society North Georgia Mountains chapter holds monthly meetings at Young Harris College, conducts field trips, organizes native plant rescue programs and offers habitat certifications. For more information and to get involved, visit gnps.org.
