A Gainesville man who has been in jail since late March for possession of child pornography is now facing charges of child molestation.
Ryan Daniel Kinev, age 38, was initially arrested by Hall County Sheriff's Office deputies on March 28 on four charges of exploitation of a minor. Officials said a cyber tip led to the discovery of the materials on Kinev's electronic device.
A release from the sheriff's office Thursday said investigators have now found evidence that Kinev abused a female under the age of 16 at a residence on Lotheridge Road on March 25th. Kinev reportedly knew the victim in the case.
He has now been charged with three counts of child molestation and 38 new charges of sexual exploitation of a minor. He's being held in the Hall County Jail without bond.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force have assisted the Hall County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.
