Region 8-2A will open its region schedules while Regions 7-3A and 8-A Division 1 will continue after a wild opening week last week around northeast Georgia. In all, every game on Tuesday's schedule involves important region contests.
In 7-3A, after last week's opening series, six of the seven teams are within one game of first place, as no team was able to earn a sweep. Gilmer (6-4, 0-0 Region 7-3A) was the only team not to get started but will open a series against 10th-ranked Dawson County (7-4, 1-2 Region 7-3A) in Dawsonville. No. 2 Pickens (9-3, 2-1 Region 7-3A) and White County (8-4, 2-1 Region 7-3A) will play a doubleheader on Tuesday to open a three-game series in Jasper with the winner of the series staying atop the standings in the early going.
Region 8-2A opens its schedule on Tuesday, with East Jackson on the road and Banks County and Union County at home. East Jackson (6-6, 0-0 Region 8-2A) heads to Athens Academy (4-4, 0-0 Region 8-2A), while Banks County (6-4, 0-0 Region 8-2A) plays host to Providence Christen (5-6, 0-0 Region 8-2A). Union County (3-3, 0-0 Region 8-2A) plays host to Fellowship Christian (5-5, 0-0 Region 8-2A).
In Region 8-A D1, Rabun County (2-8, 0-3 Region 8-A D1) travels to Elbert County, and Commerce (3-7, 2-1 Region 8-A D1) plays host to fifth-ranked Tallulah Falls (7-3, 2-1 Region 8-A D1), which is looking to jump into second place in the region.
