Lifetime Network program features University of North Georgia

A popular, nationwide program is featuring the University of North Georgia (UNG) as one of several schools producing future military officers.

"Military Makeover: Operation Career" recently featured UNG on its Lifetime Network program on March 1,  and will re-broadcast the program on Thursday, March 7 at 7:30 a.m.

The programis hosted by Montel Williams and talks about UNG's role as one of just six senior military colleges nationwide and the only one that solely produces officers for the Army.

The show will feature interviews with current UNG President Michael Shannon, a current cadet and several UNG alumni: 

  • Col. Kitefre Oboho, '02, who served as commander of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Moore, Georgia, and is currently enrolled in the Army War College. In June 2024, he is slated to take command of the entire 75th Ranger Regiment. 
  • Earl "Chico" Porter III, '09, an attorney and former Army ranger who has raised money to address veteran suicides. 
  • 2nd Lt. Kevin Oliveros Aguilar, '23, a Cleveland, Georgia, resident who commissioned in the Infantry branch of the Georgia Army National Guard in December. 
  • Liv Sullens, a Gainesville, Georgia, resident who is a cadet and women's soccer player for the Nighthawks.   

"Military Makeover:  Operation Career", is also available on the UNG YouTube page for viewing, as well as on the Military Makeover website.
