The new Habersham County Elections and Voter Registration Office is set to open Monday at a shopping center in Cornelia.
The new office will be located at 403 Habersham County Shopping Center, which is just up from the Belk location, next to the former Community Bank and Trust Operations Center on the 441 bypass, according to county officials.
It will open at 8 a.m. and is set to operate on weekdays as required.
The current office in the Habersham County Administration Building will remain open through Friday, at which time it will permanently close, Elections Supervisor Laurel Ellison said.
The new location will serve as the Habersham South Precinct.
Early voting weeks at the Cornelia location will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 19 to March 1. Advance voting week will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 4-8. Saturday voting will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 24 and March 2, according to spokesman Rob Moore.
Advance voting week at the Habersham North Precinct at the Habersham County Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center, 120 Paul Franklin Road, Clarkesville, will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 4-8. Saturday voting will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 2, Moore said.
