BUFORD, Ga. — The Buford flag football team captured the first annual Kickoff Classic at Buford High School on Saturday.
The Lady Wolves went a perfect 3-0 in the eight-team field. Apalachee, Archer, Buford, Chattahoochee, Carrollton, Duluth, Decatur, and Harrison participated.
Buford opened the tournament with 27-0 win over Apalachee and followed that with a 19-0 shutout of Duluth. The Lady Wolves closed out the tournament with a 20-13 victory over Decatur.
Kaylee Johnson had a pair of solid games at quarterback, going 24-of-32 for 242 yards and 6 TDs combined. She tossed 4 in the win over Apalachee and 2 more against Decatur.
Mia Bouton, who played QB against Duluth, had a great all-around day for the Lady Wolves. She had 7 catches for 76 and a TD combined in two games receiving and added 4 rushes for 20 yards on the ground. In the win over Duluth, she was 3-for-3 passing for 28 yards and 1 touchdown pass.
Braleigh Wansley had a 46 yard TD catch against Apalachee and picked off a pass on defense against Duluth. Abby Norris 2 INTs against Apalachee. Norris also caught a 26-yard TD pass against Duluth.
In the Duluth game, Danica Jones had 2 carries for 23 yards. In the finale against Decatur, Payton Apolenis had 3 catches for 15 yards and Sarah Duran added 2 catches for 28 yards and caught a touchdown pass.
The three wins moved Buford to 4-1 on the season.
