New facility is open for Northeast Georgia Physicians Group in Gainesville

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) and the Hall County Health Department have worked together since 2008 to make health care more accessible for patients who can’t always afford the services they need. Now many of those patients will visit a beautiful new office.

The NGPG and the Health Department recently cut the ribbon to officially open the new NGPG Community Clinic in Gainesville at their location at 1292 Athens Street. NGPG is leasing the new, 8,000-square-foot building from Hall County. Previously, NGPG leased space inside a wing of the Health Department. In this new space, NGPG will continue to provide primary care, medication assistance, diabetes education, behavioral health services and social work services,  regardless of costs or lack of insurance for patients.

Dr. Georgina Kalaitzidis, a longtime physician at NGPG Community Clinic says in a press release,  “It’s all part of our mission to improve the health of the community in all we do. Our patients deserve to be treated in the same modern, welcoming environment as anyone else.”

Dr. Kalaitzidis, along with Babette Irizarry, MD, and Samantha Wilson, PA, are accepting new patients at the clinic on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. To learn more or schedule an appointment, visit ngpg.org/community-clinic or call 770-219-9400.
